Hi, I’m Michele Holmes

I am a homeschooling mom of 30 years with a desire to see you become a confident decision maker.

I understand the numerous decisions on your radar and the responsibility they carry. With a defined purpose and clear goals, I believe you can create a framework that empowers you to make homeschooling decisions confidently.

It can be hard to articulate clearly your philosophies, purpose, and practices for your homeschool, not to mention your goals, and that’s where I can help. In our membership community, I guide you through defining your thoughts about homeschooling and your desires for your particular homeschool.

Once you have things articulated, I’m here to help you put those theories into practice, including creating your own Homeschool Directive, a comprehensive document that gives you a framework for making confident decisions!

Meet Team U

Michele HolMes

Michele is a homeschooling veteran with 30 years of homeschooling experience that includes graduating six kids (four went on to earn college degrees and the other two are current college students). Additionally, she is homeschooling her youngest two (yep! she’s got 8 kids) which means she’s up-to-date on the current trends in the homeschooling community.

Married to her high school sweetheart, Ed, Michele lives in the Chicagoland area where she started and led a homeschool co-op that is still going strong 20 years later averaging 150 – 200 kids each year. Over the years, Michele has counseled hundreds of women from diverse backgrounds and in various stages of homeschooling, as well as led workshops about starting homeschooling, homeschooling high school students, and scheduling your homeschool week.

She also co-founded and currently sits on the Board of Directors for a non-profit charity that serves her local community.

Rachel Fahrenbach

Content Manager

Growing up in the homeschooling community, Rachel was able to observe numerous homeschooling styles, hear various reasons and goals for homeschooling, and experience it all first-hand. Her observations and life experiences have impacted the choices she now makes as a 2nd generational homeschooler.

During her junior year of high school, Rachel was part of the first wave of homeschoolers to dual-enroll at her local community college. After earning her Associate’s degree, Rachel transferred to Hope College where she double majored in Creative Writing and Business Management. After college, she worked as an editor in Chicago until she and her husband, Steve, moved to the suburbs.

Since moving up to “practically Wisconsin” nine years ago,  Rachel has worked as a writing tutor, taught over 10 high-school level classes at a local homeschool co-op, coordinated over 50 weddings and events, and co-founded a non-profit charity.

Rachel and Steve live with their three children in the Chicagoland area.

Riley HolMes

Videographer and Photographer

Homeschooled all her life, Riley successfully graduated high school in June of 2019. She understands the beauty of individualized learning and wants to see more people take the leap of faith in the homeschooling journey.

Riley currently attends her local community college and is pursuing digital media arts, as well as focusing on entrepreneurship. Besides being a full-time college student, Riley is working on getting her certification as a Pilates instructor and wants to teach while finishing school.

In her free time, Riley loves to connect with people over a good cup of Joe. Her favorite drink is an iced caramel macchiato. She also loves volunteering, babysitting, photography, videography and journaling about life.
